LACPS meet pics! (BANDWIDTH WARNING!!!)

Well, I decided to go up for a LACPS meet (and unfortunately the traffic made the journey back 2X as long as it was supposed to be  so I just got home) but I did bring back a whole slew of pics! Mostly from the tour around the botanical garden cuz um...that was the most of the meeting XD.

Epic photo thread, this must be a record or something. Did you check out the rest of the gardens after the meeting?

  • #16
best pic thread ever! I so want one of my walls in my room to be replaced with that stuff for epiphytic plants :D

Man, I wish something even close to that was near me...

Josh (I feel like I'm talking to myself!) have you been to the plant conservatory greenhouses at the Como Zoo? On the last weekend of January is the MN orchid show during the Winter Carnival. Lots of vendors to spend money at as well!

-Josh :D

Unfortunately I'm at school during the St. Paul winter carnival and not really an orchid enthusiast...any CP's though?

It's been a while since I've been to the conservatory there though.

Last January almost every display had at least one Ping but there was maybe only a few common retail greenhouse Nep hybrids (miranda, ventrata, etc). I don't know if the Orchid Society has a limit on how many non-orchids can be in a display. ??? I have a feeling they probably would.

The new fern room at the Como Zoo conservatory is awesome I'll see if I can find my pics of that for the fern forum.

Absolutely gorgeous, I love botanical gardens. Thanks for the close ups of the orchids, esp. the phals, phrags and cute little dracula.
Your pictures gave me a very enjoyable tour with my morning coffee.
