seen a special on it, actually some new caves have been found since and there is a new special on next Sunday i believe on History Channel or NatGeo or one of those......as someone interested in rocks its real cool but not something the average joe will ever get to visit, the environment is quite hostile to humans, high humidity, less than ideal atmosphere for breathing and temps well over 100*

Why do you say it will be gone soon? I scanned the article and didn't see any info. Is somebody developing it ;-)

naturally the caves are under water, the water has been pumped out due to a near by mine which is also how it was discovered......the crystals become more and more unstable the longer its out of water and one day it will just fall apart......cant develop it for tourism.....IIRC scientists can only spend about 20 minutes in the cave or they will die from heat exhaustion......
