    Dee's trip to Hilo, HI

So my trip is winding down...leaving Friday morning and returning to reality.

I went to the nursery and bought my aunty a Nepenthes...didn't have any name though.
Hopefully it'll grow without too much thought, lol, my aunty is not to good with plants. Today I went to the farmer's market and strolled through looking for gifts, etc. and lo and behold there was someone in the produce side selling Neps and Sarrs...I didn't have my camera on me either, but one of the plants had a flower spike and they were cheap...I think the cheapest one was $10. Oh and these had the names on them.

All the pics are from my aunty's house, she has a jungle of ohia trees around her. Sphagnum growing all kinds of places...I was trippin out! She is the original owner of the house and I've seen the ohia forest sprout up over the years.

    Here's the pics........

    Yellow Ohia blossom
    Common Red Ohia blossom
Tree fern with orchids growing on it
    another variety of tree fern

    Orchid tree...it just rained

Can you spot the Nep in the last pic?

My aunty has a few hibiscus, couple of em are in the jungle...
Not so much plumeria, I see a few trees here and there in yards but its wet in Hilo. There's a lot of flowering ginger and anthuriums.

One of my close friends from high school lives in Hilo now. I was supposed to go out and kick it with him for a few months a couple years ago, but the day before my flight left he fell off the face of the Earth. Last year I got a short email saying,"Sorry man, the wife just wasn't thrilled with the idea." And that's all it said.. So close, yet so far.

Possibly N. Konak? I doubt it though.
Do you remeber the name of any of the Neps?
