Eep! For the first time in my 5 years of growing, I have FINALLY got Sarracenia seeds to germinate, so expect pictures. Unfortunately, I most likely cannot have a 24-hour light, which I have a question about for in the winter:
I know my sarrs will go dormant under 12 hours a day of lighting. Will they require cooler temperature when they're young? I just really do NOT want to lose these.

Really? Hmm... my powershot ranges from 3.4 to 8.0. I thought 8.0 would be better as everything would be in focus. But maybe not. I will try that.

I don't think 8 is going to give you grainy shots, I typically shoot at 10 if I want a little depth. I was talking more like 20... that always gives me grainy shots, LOL. Maybe it's not grainy but blurry. The camera may not be focusing right for landscape shots. Being a Powershot, it doesn't have a manual focus option, I imagine? If so, you could experiment with that.

Also, I have to recommend CHDK if you're not already using it - it'll give you far more control over your camera.

It does have MF. That's how I got many of my macro shots. I'll try that.
Chdk sounds interesting. Will look into it.

Thanks. The sparkler was my best light painting yet.
