A new hybrid we found in a local bog, where it wasn't supposed to be. I'm growing it now, and will be naming it once it flowers.

We surveyed Avery's Mill Pond on 7-9-2011 in an attempt to find the mother population of Drosera intermedia in Surry County. We didn't find any, but we did find Utricularia radiata, which is a new county record. I found one of the flower floats while waiting for the team to get over a beaver dam in a canoe. It quickly lead to more and more of the plant the further we went towards the head of the pond.

    Here's the pond.

My Drosera capensis which decided to flower, despite looking rather pitiful. We're running low on capensis, so this should make up for the shortage.

It's small and has a white top, why not name it after her? One of my friends got to meet her, making a lot of us very jealous.

I'm hoping to develop a hybrid or cultivar that has a red lid and tall stature so I can name it Conan O'Brian.
