    My lab in the news

    Hey everyone,

The local news decided to do a piece on one of the big projects that my lab is working on: The Marin Carbon Project. Since I've talked with a number of you about it in the past, and since it's a really cool project, I thought I'd share. You don't see my face, but I know and work with all of the people you see, and in all of the places they show. My hands are featured at 2:17, however. :P

The video gets at the general principle of the project, even if some of the explanations are a bit off. Would be happy to answer any questions.

Why don't you just pull the carbon out of the air and make diamonds from it? You'll be rich in no time!! ;-)

I should add, awesome project. Sounds a lot more reasonable then "everybody should drive electric cars."

    BRILLIANT!

Yeah it's a great project! Means I get to work out in the field, not just in lab all day, every day. However, like Dr. Silver says in the video -- it's not a magic bullet. I agree with your sentiment, though. If we can manage our lands using practices that make us money and help the environment using simple techniques available today, not some technology that's X years from being researched, Y years from being produced, and Z years from being affordable... Sound like a good deal to me. :P

Wonderful Est. My Son has completed a lot of research into switch grass and its potentials. We all need to work toward this! Well Done!
