Nice to see so much success with D. graminifolia. If you ever take a close-up shot of your P. gypsicola I'd love to see it. Those are quite amazing looking.

Thanks everyone for the comments! Sorry, I apparently didnt get any email notifications of replies and spaced on checking..

So here's a few more new pics... Johnny lectured me into changing how my "highland" tank was set up. ;) So everything is now out of the tray that i had sitting in there, and is now on egg crate with a few inches of water on the bottom.. I have a bit more space in the tank now too with it set up like this..

Johnny/Cthulhu sent me this little heli.. But I have to keep it alive and grow it up to find out what it is.. Because he's a meanie poopie head and is with-holding that info to torture me. It just arrived today as a late B-day present..

My helis are recovering from the apocalypse that happened in the tank a month or so ago... Starting to look much better... All the new pitchers look great.

H. butchenisis. ;) (minor x het) Was my first heli, given to me by Butch as a wee little division. This latest pitcher looks like it'll be great.

And my Hummer's Giant Ceph.. my first ceph which has survived all my attempts to kill it. It so far has thrived the best in this tank so im leaving it in there.. This is the biggest pitcher yet.

Everything looks so nice! WTG, Brie!

I am going to need to source some egg crate. I was just given a Hi and Utric that need a real HL tank.

Happy growing!

Very nice Brie, everything looks great :).

Lil, you can find it at Home Depot in the lighting cover section or in the lighting section itself. It was difficult for me to find.

Great update Brie! Awesome birthday presents. You might wanna force feed or apply foliar ferts on the heli to accelerate its growth

Great looking plants and setup!

Nothing but awesomeness, as usual. Got a craving for another ping rock photo though...

Congrats on the tuberous dew. How deep did you plant the corm and how long did it take to see growth?

LOL theres nothing new on the ping rock front, it looks exactly the same as the last photo..

Thanks :) Im pretty stoked.. However I know the pot is way too small.. All i had were 4" pots(although i HAVE seen various photos around the net of pretty amazing tuberous collections, using 4" pots).. The tubers were put halfway up, then more substrate added... Cant really say how long its been... Dont remember the date when I actually potted them up.. But so far I still only have growth on the Menziesii..

The P. cyclosecta shot is my favorite

nice photos Brie. i wouldnt worry too much about forcing pings to go into dormancy. they seem to do it on their own.

  • #576
great pics as expected, regia with snail if i had to choose, did it catch it?

  • #577
Corky, yeah i think if and the cyclosecta are my faves for sure. As for the snail, I found it in some live moss and squished it. Then decided not to waste it so gave it to the regia.

Looking great Brie!

I would keep them wet until you see their leaf shape changing. Mine have just switched to the succulent leaves so pulled them out of the trays earlier this week (gypsicola), all the rest are showing no signs of slowing down, so they stay wet.

im about to drop their day period to 8 hours, so that will prolly trigger some of them... none of the ones i had last year went dormant, so i think I need to stop watering to go along with the decrease in light hours.. Worried that theyre gunna burn out and die on me.
