Favorite animal photos...

I know there are some very skilled Photographers on this forum so I figured I would see if people would want to post their favorite animal photos...

They can be pets, in zoos, wild, stuffed, pickeled, rugs. whatever...

Here are some of my favorites:

Some large South American rodent:

Lemur:

European horned viper:

Please post your own!

Did you take these? They're really clear! The rodent is called a cavy, they have some incredibly strong legs and can jump 6-9 feet in the air from a stand still. They're like a capybara and rabbit mixed together. Very cool viper!

I'll see if I can find some of my photos today.

That's adorable! She doesn't look too bothered by being held. Alpacas make me happy, no matter what else has happened that day.

I was finally able to photograph my hyperactive killifish! The male is super colorful, but they don't sit still, ever!

Here's some artwork I did with an expired animal. Don't worry, I found it like this in my backyard, minus the paint.

i saved her life by picking her up she was born lithological and need help to get going so I picked her up and shaked her till she woke up, that pic is when she was a few days old

Nice save. That's a big baby!

Alpacas are awsome...

@wireman: Yes I did take those. That sculpture is amazing!

Here are some more:

Meerkat:

Asian elephants:
london308.jpg

Some very heavily edited zebras:
london300.jpg

Green tree python:
london373.jpg

Squirrel monkey:
london624.jpg

Those pythons can be nasty! They don't like to let go when they bite.
That's by far my most controversial sculpture, but that's part of the fun. The stares it gets are priceless!

Since when are dead animals controversial? :-O

Since most of these photos were taken at zoos, I managed to stay on the other side of the glass from the python. Not really a big fan of snakebites...

Those are really amazing!

I love the one of the Fiji iguana!

Thanks Peat! I use a canon rebel T1i atm, but most of those photos were taken with either the ORIGINAL Canon Rebel digital, or the Rebel XT.

Here's some newer photos, taken with the T1i.

They are great snakes to photograph, nice and calm. Nothing like atrox.

  • #18
Yeah.. I had one for quite a while.. they are one of my faves..

here's a couple of photos of a pair I came across in the southern Chiricahuas... old photo, prolly 7-8 years ago now. A friend that I was with collected and kept these for his collection. Must be nice living in AZ, being able to do that. LOL.

Here's a C. tigris that was collected as well, but towards Tucson.

Yeah that must be nice, and not having to pay the crazy prices for licenses. I didn't have much luck when I went to the Chiricahuas (the road was closed due to a huge fire) I only found a DOR lepidus.

I did find a sad little tigris, looked like a car clipped it shortly before I found it.
