It looks like the platy x rc will take some time to show off (I have one of my own :) ), but I'd bet it's a great hybrid when mature.

The automated system looks pretty slick!

  • #209
Thanks jpappy! Its kind of jumbled together right know, Ill be working in cleaning it up and streamlining everything in the coming weeks.

I have the humidity set at 85% and it bounces between 82% & 86%.

The temperature is set at 70º for day and 50º at night +/- 1º.

How's this sound to everyone?
Any suggestions?

Thank you

Go for a bigger temp difference between day & night, but don't exceed the plant's limits.
Shoot for 78*-80* day, and 48* (for villosa) to 54* for HL. Bump the night temps up 10-15 degrees for intermediate..

Thanks a lot Travis! I appreciate the reply to my thread!
I will take your suggestions well into consideration.

Isn't 80 a bit high for an everyday day temp? I always believed 75 was about as high as you should go.
But you would know better then I, just looking for clarification.

MY system runs at
Day - 70-81 F
Night 60-55F

The heat doesnt seem to bother anybody, even the aristo hybrid is tolerating it.

Just look at the color change to that D. aliciae. That's a beautiful plant by the way.

Thanks for the input everybody! And thanks for the compliment bluemax!

Ok, I bumped the day temp to 75 and the night temp to 48. How's this sound?
