I've been behind on this thread. It's been a treat catching up. I love snakes, even hard-biting ones. I've always wanted to grow N. alata and now I want it even more. Very nice pitcher.

  • #103
I'm behind, too. Need to post more photos that I took about a month ago. N. alata is a pretty plant, just hard to find the actual thing. Hopefully we'll have cuttings up for offer soon.

So what is the 'Meadowview Monster'? A big turtle? Fish?

  • #106
It's a very big red belly slider. She was to ofar away to tell exactly how big. We found a huge one last year.

  • #107
Wow great pictures! I like that maxima, looks like a slender burbridgeae.

  • #108
Well said. Maybe that's why I like maxima so much. It grows a lot faster than burbidgeae does, too.

  • #109
I really like the delicate, rosy coloring of the Chesterfield purpurea. Subtle and striking at the same time, if that is possible. And your jumping spider shots are world-class.

  • #110
It does have a rather attractive color. Thanks for the compliments! I couldn't believe the spider photos turned out that well, to be honest.

I don't know how I missed your reply...

Native orchids aren't too terribly well known over here. That Liparis is really common for an orchid, surprisingly. The weird part is how diverse and broadly distributed the Liparis genus is.
