I guess you shoulda taken me up on my offer of Sphagnum from my greenhouse ;-)
At least 30 taxa of Sphagnum in North America are considered vulnerable, rare or endangered and may be protected by state or local laws.
Grand Hotel... always the same. People come, people go. Nothing ever happens.
My person went down to their private farm and found a few patches of what they believe is sphagnum. Growing in stands, the growth points look like little pompoms, green/yellow-orange/brown. They've been told to leave a lot so that it can grow back.
