Things are looking nice, dude. What sort of work does zonaria require in order to grow well? I really like that species.

  • #364
D.zonaria is a tuberous species so....... a lot of extra work.

  • #365

I am indeed. That's why the growing season seems off. I'll let them go back down in June or July and bring them back out in late fall.

Wonderful stuff! I see your N. naga is similar to mine, colorwise; mine turns to a metallic black very quickly.

Yours is probably the closest to mine I've seen, especially colorwise. It's a seriously amazing species and I'm very happy to have gotten one. I have 2 seedlings as well that are either a lighter colored form of naga or possibly carunculata or an intrograde of the 2. Very curious to see how they turn out.

so would you not feed the plant or expect it to flower in this short first season?then would you allow to dry out to induce dormancy, need to get my head around this so i can have a go at some tuberous dews, hope you do not mind all the questions

  • #372
Looking good as usual brotha. Loving the shape of that veitchii..

The plants will be fed and may even bloom. Acclimating them to the northern hemisphere can be challenging but well worth the extra effort.

Thanks Travis. I've said it before and I'll say it gain.....that veitchi 'Pink' is hands down the nicest $10.00 plant I've ever bought.
