Jimmy,

Thanks...

The first image is from a mixed sarr mini bog, so don't really know...
Second image is either S. Leah Wilkerson or S. Adrian Slack, I have both species in 5 gallon buckets sitting nest to each other...
Their labels are buried by the moss, but I think its LW

Yashica ML 50mm f/1.7

Yashica ML 50mm f/1.7

A very nice lens IMHO,
No post processing other then a bump on brightness (camera was set on -1/3), crop on one, and resizing.
Some rumors surround the Yaz ML series of lenses
Yashica ML 50mm f/1.7 can be found on Ebay for 50ish.. at least two variants exist, so do your homework.
Supposedly, there is a big difference in performance.

Ooh, scary wasp. Did it get caught while you were taking pictures?

  • #187
Nope, never did see him go below the rim... he just flew from pitcher to pitcher (while I was wanting to snap the pic of course lol)

Moon shot

I missed getting a shot of the "Honey" Moon Friday night, so got out last night and got what I could.
Wasn't the same but oh well....

You should have seen the moon. It was like a pseudo sun, with all the yellow.

I would have used this for the June photo contest, but technically, it was late May.

It didn't look any different for me, other than being a little brighter.

Oh well, you'll just have to wait for the next on in 2098 :)

I told myself "no more 50mm lenses"
But then I found this true classic on the cheap and couldn't resist :hail:

I picked up a Vivivtar Series 1 1st generation quite a while ago for a good deal, think it was around 30 bucks. I stuffed it in the camera bag and it just kinda sat there. For Christmas I received an Amazon gift card, so I decided to finally get an adapter since my kit lens has been buggy. Let me tell you, I am very excited I did. I haven't had so much fun taking pics in quite a while. I got it this afternoon, so here are a couple of pics from me just messing around. All the photos are completely unedited/uncropped. Taken with a Canon Rebal XT

Tiny, near illegible paragraph on the back of a Canadian $10 bill:

My pitiful lil Cpehalotus. The smaller pitcher is around 3mm:

I got to set up some light this evening and took some pics of U. sandersonii "Blue":

The series 1, gen1 is an amazing lens.... I think I read somewhere to manufacture that lens today, it would have to sell for like 1500USD

Story goes Vivitar lost money on each one of the gen 1's they sold, but were eager to get market share at the time.

Outstanding find and pics Monkey, enjoy the classic glass!!
hmmm pretty sure I have a pdf of the manual somewhere, and maybe the factory service manual.... Ill dig around and see
