Can anyone 'splain this?

I have seen these kinds of pages before..
they are a big random blob of key words and phrases, intended to be brought up by a google search..

the page exists as a method to further spread spam..
instead of getting a spam email, you do a google search (for anything)..you land on that page, and might be tempted to click on a link..if so, spam = successful..
spam emails are probably becoming less successful all the time, so this is a "next step" to get people to click on things..to sell stuff, or spread viruses, malware, etc..

the page, by itself, makes no sense..but making sense isn't its purpose..
the page exists, like spam emails exist, because people suck..
essentially, the webpage IS spam..

LOL ebayers do that too, you'll be reading a product description and it follows with a huge block of search keywords before you can get to the shipping info.

It's like when you tag a picture with everything so everyone can find it.

Haha, that thing is hilarious to read.

It's like when you tag a picture with everything so everyone can find it.

which is lame, and no one should do that (especially if the tags have nothing to do with the photo)..but yes, its basically the same concept..

Incredible! So the d-bags who do this actually have a forum to showcase their latest round of gibberish?

Incredible! So the d-bags who do this actually have a forum to showcase their latest round of gibberish?

well, its not really a "forum"..technically its a blog.
although its not really a blog either, its a fake blog, but yes, the d-bags made it to showcase their latest round of gibberish..but showcasing the gibberish isnt really the point either..the gibberish only exists as a means to draw people to that page via google searches..then once you are there, they hope you will be dumb enough to click on their spam links on that page..

Blogging tools have been identified by spammer's as a great new resource. What a way to totally bugger up the search process.

Related to this, a favorite things of certain Russian sites is to drive traffic to your blog (counter-intuitive at first) so that when you, the blog owner, go look at your blog stats, you see all of this traffic coming from .ru domains. You're an ape, so naturally you're curious and click on the link to see why such a site would be providing traffic to your small blog, thus providing them with the desired effect. Done enough times the blog traffic driven link success rate is pretty high and they win. Devious.
