2012 annular eclipse

lance

Class 5 Nepenthes hoarder
Just wanted to let y'all know there will be a solar eclipse starting in an hour where the moon will block out the sun. This will be viewable for most people in the US except for the far east (New york...etc). Heres a map to show who will get to see full, half, or no blockage of the sun.

<a href="http://s1222.photobucket.com/albums/dd495/Lance_Plater/?action=view&current=solar-eclipse-north-america-map.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1222.photobucket.com/albums/dd495/Lance_Plater/solar-eclipse-north-america-map.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Remember to not look at the sun directly, but with special eclipse glasses or a mirror to view it indirectly. Good luck hope you have clear skies!

It's storming here in southern Illinois, so we won't even get to see our little chunk of it.

cloudy here in Oregon but im north of the zone

Well, I'm in the partial area.... and it hasn't began yet, but here is what I see as of about 3 mins ago. (Cell phone through filtered telescope)

Thanks Lance. I can't even see it with the trees in the way - although it isn't supposed to be very impressive here in Ottawa....

Not as cool as the link... but I'll provide some pictures too as I take them....

didnt even make the news, this thread is the first and only place I even heard of it..
(and about an hour after it ended! ;)
probably just the tiniest sliver of the moon covered the sun here..not enough to even notice..
