An orchid fancier with a CP problem
My trust Canon G9 is starting to die one me. It may not go today, tomorrow or even next week. But go soon it will. So I am looking for suggestions for a replacement. Now to make it easier on everyone let me make it clear that I already own a DSLR system, nor am I interested in a tiny sensor superzoom.
I am looking for suggestions for a large sensopr compact with 6x zoom or so.

Thanks in advance

Seems like the next logical step would be the Canon PowerShot G1 X, the large-sensor compact with a fixed lens. I think it only has a 4x zoom though. I think all the other large-sensor compacts have interchangeable lenses, so you would probably just want to use your DSLR since you'd be carrying extra lenses anyway.
