    Pine Barrens trip #2

Today I visited a couple of locations with my grandfather. First we did some canoeing through the pine barrens.

We discovered a small opening in the dense forest, it was mainly a field of cranberrys with small pools of water lilies.

There were a couple drosera intermedia scattered on the pool banks.

    Leaving the site...

Some other random stuff we saw

Saw this snake, anyone want to ID it?

Now for the next location. I have been to this location once before and involves a bit of offload driving to get there, this secret location was shown to me by one of the Brooklyn botanical garden curators.

The only way to go bogging

Hybrid swarm of drosera x beliziana (intermedia crossed with rotundifolia)

    The end!!!

Btw, anyone know what form of purp this is?

thank you everyone. I still have a ton more photos to post .

I just wanted to note that all the red in the last three photos is drosera. The beliziana population was located in bronze sphagnum so anything that looks like red sphagnum is actually just more sundews

There can be an overlap in the S purpurea, but most of what I always see on my trips is S. purpurea subsp. venosa
