Photos from my 2012 trip to local CP nursery open house

Brie

Sarracenia freak
I went with 100 bucks in my pocket, amazingly only spent 75 bucks of it. Came home with an S. flava ornata "Clone 1", S. flava ornata "Clone 2", S. flava rubricorpora "AG3 Clone", S. areolata, D. graminifolia and a Hawaiian D. angelica.

First, some crappy cell phone pics of the new additions..

This is the largest, happiest schizandra as you'll ever see.. An easy 8" across.

For some reason, it's more exciting for me to see these photographs than it was to see some of the plants up close. Great job at capturing the nursery, Brie.

oh wow. Guess I don't have to repot my droso.. since it's in the same size terracotta as those beasts. Awesomeness.. looks like you guys had fun.

IMO the pots they use are WWAAYY too small..

but knowing it won't die if I don't repot it is comforting.
And it may die if I do repot it, so I was happy to see that pic. Cause now I'm not going to worry about doing anything with it.

That ****zy is awesome. Thanks for sharing.

The one I bought from them in a small terracotta pot has declined.. probably due to the super small pot since my other one, that ive grown from a seedling, in a huge pot, is doing awesome.. So you might want to slack pot it at the very least.

slack pot it? ???

IIRC, it's a medium pot inside a big pot with something like a light Ping mix in between.

Enjoyable shots of the openhouse, Brie. I agree on the first nep you photographed. That is a very pretty plant.

Gorgeous photos, hopefully I'll actually be able to attend one of those open houses one of these days! Some of those darker Sarrs and the big Neps have me drooling.....

I want that S. leuco!

Thanks for the tour. :hail:

Stunning pics, as usual. The mass of fall sarrs are always great to see there. I agree with Mato, your pictures capture detial otherwise missed when there in person, great job.
