    Arrow Wash your media?

Do people here, especially those who grow more sensitive plants like Cephs, heli's, etc, wash their media before they plant? I've been known to wash my Orchid Bark, Peat, and APS in filtered water until I get a PPM of less than 50. Thoughts?

Nope, I don't have time or energy for that, stuff just gets wetted down and plopped in the pot.
Some days it just isn't worth chewing thru the restraints.

I don't wash mine either... Seems unnecessary. I keep Drosera, Nepenthes and Sarracenia mainly and they're all fine with unwashed LFS/peat/perlite/sand.

Like most people I started out washing everything. Now I only soak my orchid bark in a 5gal bucket for a day or so and then give it a stir. Same with perlite.

I rinse my silica sand...thats it. And just a few times of filling up a bucket above the sand line and toss the sand about, pour it out and repeat a few rounds.

I also only wash my silica sand, and I don't even wash my sand 100% of the time (though there does seem to be some benefit). It's not worth the time and effort to wash everything else. And in most cases there is no need, period. My plants have never complained. Don't believe the hype

I don't wash anything, but there are certain growers who do (Brie swears by it, for example), and their plants are exceptionally nice.
