Plant Planter

The Most Uncreative Name in the History of Ever
Unfortunately I don't have many plants to take photos of. Oh well.

I'll update this thread periodically whenever something neat happens.

A lovely Sarracenia leucophylla 'Tarnok' pitcher that's grown to be over a foot tall. It hasn't quite finished opening yet.
<a href="http://s1303.photobucket.com/user/Flytrapfarmer/media/IMG_00831_zps5270ccc3.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1303.photobucket.com/albums/ag152/Flytrapfarmer/IMG_00831_zps5270ccc3.jpg" border="0" alt="Sarracenia leucophylla 'Tarnok' Pitcher photo IMG_00831_zps5270ccc3.jpg"/></a>

A better-quality shot of my 'Dentate Traps' plant.
<a href="http://s1303.photobucket.com/user/Flytrapfarmer/media/IMG_00871_zps604a5b23.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1303.photobucket.com/albums/ag152/Flytrapfarmer/IMG_00871_zps604a5b23.jpg" border="0" alt="'Dentate Traps' Flytrap photo IMG_00871_zps604a5b23.jpg"/></a>

My flowering monster, Drosera spatulata. Count the stalks.
<a href="http://s1303.photobucket.com/user/Flytrapfarmer/media/IMG_00881_zpsb80e5c3b.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1303.photobucket.com/albums/ag152/Flytrapfarmer/IMG_00881_zpsb80e5c3b.jpg" border="0" alt="Drosera Spatulata with Flower Stalks photo IMG_00881_zpsb80e5c3b.jpg"/></a>

A whole shot of my Sarracenia leucophylla 'Tarnok'.
<a href="http://s1303.photobucket.com/user/Flytrapfarmer/media/IMG_00891_zpsae50baa0.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1303.photobucket.com/albums/ag152/Flytrapfarmer/IMG_00891_zpsae50baa0.jpg" border="0" alt="Sarracenia leucophylla 'Tarnok' photo IMG_00891_zpsae50baa0.jpg"/></a>

My baby little 'Cupped Trap' plant that appears to be recovering from Small-Leaf Syndrome.
<a href="http://s1303.photobucket.com/user/Flytrapfarmer/media/IMG_00901_zps746f814c.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1303.photobucket.com/albums/ag152/Flytrapfarmer/IMG_00901_zps746f814c.jpg" border="0" alt="'Cupped Trap' Flytrap photo IMG_00901_zps746f814c.jpg"/></a>

My 'Green Dragon' plant with huge spring leaves. Oddly, its traps seal shut before they die. Maybe they're just too weak before death to eat anything and they know it.
<a href="http://s1303.photobucket.com/user/Flytrapfarmer/media/IMG_00911_zps50bd6b92.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1303.photobucket.com/albums/ag152/Flytrapfarmer/IMG_00911_zps50bd6b92.jpg" border="0" alt="'Green Dragon' Flytrap photo IMG_00911_zps50bd6b92.jpg"/></a>

Just your not-so-friendly neighborhood flytrap.
<a href="http://s1303.photobucket.com/user/Flytrapfarmer/media/IMG_00921_zps371f2d95.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1303.photobucket.com/albums/ag152/Flytrapfarmer/IMG_00921_zps371f2d95.jpg" border="0" alt="Venus Flytrap photo IMG_00921_zps371f2d95.jpg"/></a>

My very basic Pinguicula primuliflora.
<a href="http://s1303.photobucket.com/user/Flytrapfarmer/media/IMG_00931_zpsff92230c.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1303.photobucket.com/albums/ag152/Flytrapfarmer/IMG_00931_zpsff92230c.jpg" border="0" alt="Pinguicula primuliflora photo IMG_00931_zpsff92230c.jpg"/></a>

What happens when a 'Green Dragon' plant collides with a spider? (Sorry for bad quality; I needed to zoom in a LOT. At least you can see the legs sticking out. :mwahaha:)
<a href="http://s1303.photobucket.com/user/Flytrapfarmer/media/IMG_00941_zps11cc4139.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1303.photobucket.com/albums/ag152/Flytrapfarmer/IMG_00941_zps11cc4139.jpg" border="0" alt="'Green Dragon' Meets a Spider... photo IMG_00941_zps11cc4139.jpg"/></a>

My (unfortunately pitcherless) Nepenthes fusca.
<a href="http://s1303.photobucket.com/user/Flytrapfarmer/media/IMG_00951_zps50e4b0a6.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1303.photobucket.com/albums/ag152/Flytrapfarmer/IMG_00951_zps50e4b0a6.jpg" border="0" alt="Pitcherless Nepenthes fusca photo IMG_00951_zps50e4b0a6.jpg"/></a>

Mind you, these are ONLY my carnivorous plants! I have more non-carnivores that I'll add later.

Nice start to your collection! That P. primuliflora looks very happy (I tend to kill them). Is the Tarnok your only sarracenia?

Yes, it is. My dad has a Sarracenia flava that isn't doing too well, though. Its pot also has a tiny seedling Drosera capensis in it.

Nice plants you have there!! Is your N. Fusca a new plant? Sometimes it can take a while for adaptation to occur before the Nepal starts putting out nice pitchers.

...Is your N. Fusca a new plant? Sometimes it can take a while for adaptation to occur before the Nepal starts putting out nice pitchers.

I've had it for about a month. How long is 'a while?'

"A while" can be six months or more for some plants. It depends on how adaptable the species (or hybrid) is, and how close to ideal your growing conditions are. Even in my carefully engineered greenhouse, I have some plants that are still adapting to the growing conditions after a full year in my care. Nepenthes require extreme patience sometimes.

Sometimes low humidity cause Nepenthes to temporarily stop pitchering. You may want to consider setting up a grow chamber.

Good Growing,
Kenny

It is in its own terrarium. I only took off the lid to get the photo. The humidity is measured at about 90%.

New photos!

Sarracenia leucophylla 'Tarnok' opens up.
<a href="http://s1303.photobucket.com/user/Flytrapfarmer/media/IMG_00991_zps776c3c54.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1303.photobucket.com/albums/ag152/Flytrapfarmer/IMG_00991_zps776c3c54.jpg" border="0" alt="Sarracenia leucophylla 'Tarnok' Pitcher (Open) photo IMG_00991_zps776c3c54.jpg"/></a>

A hopeful flower stalk that I'm confident will bloom.
<a href="http://s1303.photobucket.com/user/Flytrapfarmer/media/IMG_01001_zps0f9baa23.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1303.photobucket.com/albums/ag152/Flytrapfarmer/IMG_01001_zps0f9baa23.jpg" border="0" alt="Hopeful Flower Stalk photo IMG_01001_zps0f9baa23.jpg"/></a>

The aforementioned Sarracenia flava. It's not looking so hot. If you look closely in the lower areas of the pot you can see the tiny Drosera capensis.
<a href="http://s1303.photobucket.com/user/Flytrapfarmer/media/IMG_01011_zps35c2e583.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1303.photobucket.com/albums/ag152/Flytrapfarmer/IMG_01011_zps35c2e583.jpg" border="0" alt="Sarracenia flava (Unhealthy) photo IMG_01011_zps35c2e583.jpg"/></a>

My dried Venus flytrap flowers that I hope I'll get seeds from.

You'll definitely be getting seeds from those Dionaea stalks. I'm still waiting for mine to flower.

Yet more new photos!

Poor little Nepenthes fusca needed a little more sunblock yesterday...
<a href="http://s1303.photobucket.com/user/Flytrapfarmer/media/IMG_01031_zps3213c5c8.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1303.photobucket.com/albums/ag152/Flytrapfarmer/IMG_01031_zps3213c5c8.jpg" border="0" alt="Scorched Nepenthes fusca photo IMG_01031_zps3213c5c8.jpg"/></a>

Four gluttonous 'Dentate Traps' traps.
<a href="http://s1303.photobucket.com/user/Flytrapfarmer/media/IMG_01041_zpsf38ec764.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1303.photobucket.com/albums/ag152/Flytrapfarmer/IMG_01041_zpsf38ec764.jpg" border="0" alt="Gluttonous Traps photo IMG_01041_zpsf38ec764.jpg"/></a>

My dad's Sarracenia purpurea ssp. venosa (I think), which is his healthiest plant (unsurprisingly).
