I've had Sarah Bareilles on heavy repeat lately, specifically her cover of Goodbye Yellow Brick Road. It gives me the feels.

This list pretty much covers what I usually listen to.

I likes a lot of music mostly angry music, but my favorite band is Phish and my favorite song of theirs would be Character Zero I guess. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1k1w9DEqgGY

Top other bands for me would be: Alice in Chains, System of a Down, Korn, Nirvana, Tool, Tantric, along with a great many others.

I remember a thread like this years ago on here.

I still listen to metal music from when I was a teenager:

Iron Maiden - Infinite Dreams, Powerslave
    Queensryche - Operation Mindcrime
Judas Priest - Blood Red Skies, Screaming for Vengeance

I fairly recently discovered that I like epic/heroic music as genre:

Two Steps from Hell - Elementum
Basil Poledouris - Riddle of Steel/Riders of Doom
    Globus - Preliator

I like a wide variety of music, not so much country and associated. Particularly "fake country" or Country rock...so to speak. Each to his/her own of course. Been listening to these guys for a long time, still do, and their new material is quite good. Bluray program of a live performance in Rio is outstanding. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...iIEe-S6dxSGpUQ

I listen mostly to country, folk, and classical (baroque and 20th century, not a fan of the stuff in between).

Hands down my favorite piece of music ever is Shostakovich's symphony no. 7:

Gets me every time, especially the bit that starts at 19:00 and ends at around 21:07 in the link above.
