    Wet Season Exploration

The wet season indeed has moved upon Colorado. for 3 weeks, its been nothing but clouds and rain.
This means two things.. advanced greenery and fungi.

Here are some photos from around the greenbelt in my area. Many cotton woods
and grasses in this area. Primarily forest / water basin on a prairie. This area is known for
very large mushrooms and lush plants.

(I apologize in advance for bad quality)

No ID mushroom. Growing on russian olive

    The first of many swamps.

    More Mushrooms of unidentified origin.

    Spined bog plant

A nest of what I call.. "Star Trek Pods"

    Pushing onwards..

    Another mushroom no ID

I see these guys around, but no idea what they are.
They have a strange gelatinous dot on their cap center.

    More undergrowth shrooms

Alas, I finally found them! The giants of the forest.
    (The early ones at least.)

The end of the journey has led me here. This is all for now untill the next
    exploration I get around to.

    On the way out however..

Nice hunt & great pics! Its as if we were right there with you. Those are definitely oyster mushrooms at the bottom or maybe edible lookalikes. I think I also see some alcohol inkys with the ribbed cap. Its hard to tell without seeing the undersides. The orange ones at top could be a few things.. hmm... fairy ring or deadly galerina Who knows just don't get 2 hungry & start eating them. lol

Dude thats exactly what I think whenever I see them.
They usually pop up in grass fields. However, i dont think that
The ones I found have enough nipple to them..

Your probably right , they tend to pop up in very large numbers in the autumn (fall) here and get wiped out with the first frosts, problem is there are many that look similar and they vary in size and colour , I would never try and ID a shroom and say its safe or not , just that it looks similar your star trek pods , are they what I would call Scottish thistles?
