So, in the 8th inning (when the cubs fell apart ) a very interesting play happened. I don't have the power to start a poll, but do you think the umpire should have called interference on the fan who took the ball from the left fielder? Now I'm a Floridian, so naturally I wanted the Marlins to win and was happy with the call. Still, it looked like interference to me!

    What did you think?

Now, I am no baseball fan, but correct me if I am wrong. Fan interferance can not be called if the ball is out of bounds.

I did read an article on it though, and the fan was actually a cubs fan! The other fans where throwing beer and nachos on him. I think he learned his leasson.

It is not the fault of the fan for make the Cubs lose. They (Marlins) scored 8 times after that the Cubs should have done something to stop it. I bet you couple months later you will see that baseball on E-bay.

Poor fan is right. They have been posting this guys face all over the net, and national news. He better be praying to all he holds holy that the cubs pull out the next game. If the cubs lose, this poor fella will have to leave town.

As security was escorting him out of the stands, the crowd around him was chanting "Kill him, kill him, kill him!"

    Angry

They do not escort fans out for his/her safety. Fans that interfere with the game are escorted out because it is against the rules to interfere. He needs to learn the rules of the game before he decides to mess with a ball in play. Anyways, baseball is that sport that is played from the end of the football season to the begining of the next football season.

Actually, in this case I think they did escort him out for his safety. Obviously, the 'official' call was that there was no interference and that the ball wasn't in play. If the crowd was turning ugly, then the officials would want to diffuse the situation.

But hey, if the ball was heading toward me, I'd try and catch it too!
