That was really interesting! How cool! I wish we had currency here in the U.S. with a CP on it, though of course we've had stamps which were very pretty.

I didn't know this tidbid of information:

"There is evidence that Nepenthes lowii also obtains nitrogen by encouraging birds to defecate in its uniquely shaped pitchers."

I wonder if any tests have been done with bird poo as nep food... ??

I think that D'Amato offers that as an explanation for the funny wide funnel shape of the upper pitchers and the little white glands above it. I don't have my book with me right now, but I'm pretty sure it was there. I also read that on some sites about plants in Borneo.
 
I can confirm that FinnishKid. (I have read that book way to many times. It's falling apart.)
