    where do you get these things ? i look around plant stores and all i can find are digtal thermometers and plastic thermometers . the only place i can find them are at pet stores and these are the reall cheap types that don't look like there telling the exact amount . anybody know a website or store that usually sell them , i'm looking for a simple type .

    Here's a place that's relatively inexpensive:
    hygrometers.

    ... or you could try this, really cheap:
    hair hygrometer.

    Lightbulb

    Radio (Rat) Shack also has some digital ones that are between $10-20. I've have a few of them doing different things, and they have held up well.

    Mine came from PetSmart and they work just fine. Nothing fancy but functional and not so expensive.
