Let us not forget that americans STILL run the School of the Americas, as well as provide training for 160+ foriegn nations around the world in military, intelligence, and insurgency as well as groups that aren't even recognized nations. Many of the problems that are in Iraq were caused by American funding and training. To think that our government is above torture is to simply ignore that we teach people how to do it. And just last year Bush reinstated the CIAs black ops program. That's the one that allows our government to assasinate people that aren't overly helpful to American interests. I would recommend watching "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised" for a hint at the great things that our military and intellegencce communities are up to when they're not invading foriegn countries.
It's great that Saddam's been caught, but not because he's a jerk. It's great because it allows the Iraqi people to move forward in establishing a new government with the confidance that he won't just come back from hiding with some kind of coup. It allows them to live with less fear and get on with their lives.
Life is a little thing when all we're concerned about is revenge rather than living.
