Sorry Jim, didn't intend to sound like I was singling you or anyone out. I have been known to forget to check them for several weeks at a time. That's why I put them in a ziplock. I am less likely to remember to check them and find a flower pot full of desicated CP remains .

Always wanted to say this: "That's tokay, gecko." This is probably the right forum for it. Yeah, I'm such a mother hen with my CP's and I absolutely have to use the lab fridge a few times a day, five days a week. Unlike some of my family members, who are part squirrel.... Penicillin, anyone?

I actually had a fungi thing the first year my eldes vft was in the fridge. I didn't find it till spring, but it didn't even do anything to the plant, just ate off the old dead leaves. I clip them off before I put them in now and I've never seen fungi since.

Was it Mr. D'amato that said some folks cut the leaves as a preventative measure while others don't, so as to give the plant a head start in the spring? I got the impression he was strongly in favor of one or the other. Would it be more likely to encounter fungus if the plant were enclosed in a baggie as opposed to just placed in the fridge as is, open tray?
