lavenderdawn...actually I work in what is called a "center". I control aircraft from the surface to about 50k feet from wilimington n.c. to hopewell Virginia. It is considered to be the busiest step on the ladder of air traffic control. Va is great, I am originally from PA, but did atc for seven years in the usn in San Diego. I really love it, very challenging and that is what I like about it. It can be a stressful job, yes, but it is all in how you good you are or are not.
