    So what happened?
why didnt the college kids turn out in droves?
    I have a theory..
I think its because they were too smart to be told what they are supposed to think by a bunch of idiot celebrities and rock stars..
I consider the lack of turnout by the 20-somethings to be a good sign..they couldnt vote for bush, on principle.
but they didnt buy the hollywood/Kerry propaganda aimed at them either.
they refused to be brainwashed, because they are smarter than that..
so they didnt bother to vote at all..
    thoughts?

dont know.....i know there was a near record voter turnout in my state i have been wondering what its been like elsewhere. Scotty, i THINK you may have nailed it atleast i hope so as to me it makes the most sence and would mean college students were not brainwashed. BTW i noticed something in the numbers, there is about a 4 million vote difference between the two.....number of current NRA members:4.3 million i really wonder if this will make future candidates FINALLY figure out that an anti-gun stance is poor policy.

Check your stats, man. Is it the college kids who didn't vote or the non-college youths and what are you trying to do with this thread anyhow, insult college kids, the young, what?? I'm getting pretty sick of these political threads too, there really shouldn't be any more of these. See you in the REAL threads.

If you dont like them, stay out of them..just STOP READING!
problem solved for all of us..

actually, It was pretty obvious I was commending the college kids.
but you probably couldnt tell that by statements such as "they were too smart to be told what they are supposed to think"
    and
"they refused to be brainwashed, because they are smarter than that.."
I can see where you might have been confused..
those statements could easily be interpreted as insults.

Im just talking about the VERY low voter turnout by the 20-something crowd..
we kept hearing how the Youth of America was so fired up and so gung-ho for the cause..
    yet when the time came..nothing!
    why not?
    thats what im interested in..
(I guess it would be both college and non-college educated kids..this group:

We have two colleges here. I can not tell you what stopped most from voting. I can tell you that from the ones I spoke with - two things.

one group - not enough time to keep up with the issues.
other group - they did not care who wins, there's a big party tonight.

I think group one is okay. They did not want to make an un-informed choice. Group two I deal with all to often.

I should also add that I did see more youth voting than I have before.
I am just like a Super Hero, but without the power or motivation.................and the funky suit.
