Being the statistically minded individual that I am, I noticed that the amount topics and replies to topics have been greatly reduced. Does this happen every new year?

Could just be cycling, when the oldies leave and the newies (lol) replace them

It probably happens every year at this time because so much is dormant. It should pick up in the spring.
