A friend in England grows Drosera binata and mows the flats to sell by the kilo to some European concerns that market these preparations - it helps to finance his growing operation. I think that it is an ingredient in Ricola cough drops, but I'm not certain.

Well I do practice homeopathy to a small extent and I do know that Drosera Rotunifolia is a homeopathic remedy.

If anyone can distinguish a homeopathic remedy from distilled water, by any method, there's a prize of $1000000 waiting for them.
But, basic physics says it can't be done: at the dilutions homeopaths use it's billions upon billions upon billions to one that there will be a single molecule of the original substance left in the 25ml of water that you buy.
So, do the math (or go to a site that does the math for you). If any commercial company was actually making 30C potency solutions on an industrial scale there would be enough waste water produced to supply a small city. No, I think they're just selling small jars of distilled water in the certain knowledge that no-one can prove otherwise.
The exploitation of the sick and the gullible upsets me....

I agree, I have tried it myself. By the way, they dont always dilute it that much it depends on what the're trying to treat. Somtimes they only dilute it 3 or 4 times in 9 parts of water. I could probably distinguish between homeopathic remedies and distilled water. And they usually come in pills, not water.

Oh and also, part of it is placebo. But a lot of it is the medicine. Its not just of rip off, there are homeopathic doctors you can see for treatment, it was discovered so to speak by Samual Hannamen in the late 1800's
