Does anyone (besides me) know how to get fresh drinking water from urine using a sand pit, plastic wrap, and a cup? ?
And if so could this be used for water for CPs if enough is produced?
That will take FOREVER to get enough water. Just buy some distilled water or get an RO unit if you can afford it.
We have a drought here in Georgia but this is just ridiculous
If you get a decent enough mini-solar-still you can yield up to a liter a day of fresh water. This should be more than enough for your plants (according to your grow list). You can even save the leftover water for future use, so you don't have to tend to the still daily (removing the fresh water, replacing the tap water, etc.). BTW, letting water sit out for 24 hours will only allow some of the chlorine to evaporate. Boiling it will only kill off the microorganisms in the water. The real issues with using tap water are the particulates dissolved in the water. The chlorine is a problem as well, but even after that has evaporated you will still need to get rid of the minerals from hard tap water. Anywho, hope this helps. Good Luck.
Oh yeah JLAP, it really doesn't take forever to get enough water, as this is what some people must do to survive, and we drink much more water than a few CPs need. If he had a greenhouse full of plants, I would say this would be infeasible as well, but a liter of water a day should be enough for a good amount of plants.
lol just askin...
How can i get safe water from tap? let it sit out for 24 hours? Boil? I really need to know cause i have no other choice....
It takes 4 hours to get 5 gallons of water? If not I need to start selling RO units to those damned boy scouts!
i just broke down and bought distilled water...Eh? Where are you getting those numbers? Is that how quickly an RO unit takes or something?
Thats damned good mate! lol i have to buy mine for $1.40 a galTakes my unit 4 hours to make 5 gallons. Low water pressure I guess since it's rated 100 GPD but at that rate only makes 30 GPD.
Ehh, good enough for me. I get 3 ppm RO water

Here in Corvallis, we use tap water, and it works so well!!! The plants even seem to grow better, and cuttings sprout bettter in our tap water rather than RO water.
