I do have the tablesaw, and a work shop, but I dont have room for too many more terr.setups, unless i throw out my roommate and use that room LOL.
Boy o boy , i could do a whole room full.
Think its wrong tho throw them out ? Ha Haaaa!
I want to learn some glass cutting . Ya think i could save money cutting my own pieces, Ive used 1/4 inch on both of the terr. so far, but i notice the pre built 20 and 30 gal tanks seem to have 1/8, or 3/16, glass should i try them on the next build? I am doing at least two more then im out of room

I'm terrible at cutting glass. I just end up wasting it but there's an old man that works at the hardware store who does a great job cutting it for me and never charges me anything but the price of the glass pane. He always gives me the scrap to keep on practicing cutting but somehow I just can't seem to get it right... I should see if I could pay him to give me a glass cutting tutorial one day instead of just calling and then going to pick it up later.

Swords.... Have you looked at Plexiglass Acrylic Mirror sheets to build with. I used both the 1/8 and 1/4 inch thick sheets to build my winter terrariums for my CPs. It's easy stuff to work with.

I haven't introduce myself yet, have I. I'll do it this weekend.

Hi Hotrod, I have 1/4" Plexi (Lexan) for the lid since it doesn't warp/deform in the heat/humidity like regular plexi can. I haven't ever seen mirrored sheets! Where did you find that? Can you post some images sounds great!

No jimmy I have a lot of work this month (my one day a week off is tonight - I'm loving it!) so I didn't get anything done except cut these boards with my hand held jig saw and send my carpel tunnel out of this world for the last week or so.

Once January's mailing rush is over I'll have 3 and 4 days off every week again so I can get on with remodeling my room (new subfloor and tiles) and then start building the wall unit. I probably won't have a new update (or the new table saw) until Mid Feb. But at least by then my wrist should be healed up cos right now I don't feel like doing anything but wrapping it with a heating pad.

Home Depot has carried variations of PVC trimboard for several years. I used the PVC lattices that came in 2 x 4ft sheets and found it unacceptably flexible. PVC trimboard probably will not have the rigidity for use in a terrarium. I find plywood to be a better alternative to PVC for use in terrarium.
