Your izumiae x TM is out of this world! Whats the parentage of your 'black knight'? It doesn't look like the normal boring ramispina x ventricosa

Thanks folks! I appreciate all your kind comments. :)

I liked the Izumiae x TM so much that I got two. The first one I purchased from Zero on PitcherPlants, the second one came from EP via Mitch Davis. This second plant has proved to have a much more flared peristome than the first one I got. So far it's - IMHO - a superior plant to the original one. Still, both are so cool that I'm keeping the two of them for the moment. Maybe the uppers will hold surprises still. :)

I really couldn't tell you where the Black Knight plant came from, honestly. I won it at the Bay Area Carnivorous Plant Society (BACPS)'s raffle and it was identified as such. It probably is what it claims to be (I've seen others that look like mine but are darker) but I wouldn't be able to tell you exactly where it came from.

Love them both. You should do me a favor and snap a wide angle pic. Need a new desktop background to fit the season.

Oh man are those nice!

How fast of a grower is the Lowii x muluensis? I was told it was really slow because of the Lowii in it. ???

Very nice neps by the way! :)

It's slow but long lasting. Muluensis is very slow as well. Overall it retains its pitchers for a long LONG time but it grows at a glacial pace.

Gorgeous plants Brokken. I really like the muluensis x lowii.

Love the pitchers so much..

Are you sure that bamboo is not carnivorous?

  • #539
Brok, your plants never fail to amaze me. They are simply incredible.

New bamboo hedge installed. This type of bamboo is called "Temple" and it fills out very nicely. In two or three more years it will provide total privacy and shade for the house and yard.

N x "Lady Pauline" always putting out tons of pitchers:

cp-feb2012-ladypauline001.jpg

N x lowii x talangensis: An EP hybrid.

cp-feb2012-lowxtal001.jpg

N x petiolata x TM - I'm hoping this one will look better as it grows:

cp-feb2012-petixtm001.jpg

N. sibuyanensis x talangensis: This plant always puts out pitchers in the most inconvenient places to photograph. It was the only pitcher that I moved around for these photos.

cp-feb2012-sibxtal001.jpg

N. singalana: A gorgeous pitcher and my biggest one yet.

cp-feb2012-singalana001.jpg

N x spectabilis x aristo: An outstanding cross. The plant has put out a ton a basals and pitchers but they're hard to photograph.

cp-feb2012-spectxaristo001.jpg

N. truncata x spectabilis:

cp-feb2012-truncxspect001.jpg

N. spectabilis x lowii:

cp-feb2012-spectxlow001.jpg

N x truncata x (ventricosa x aristo): Got this one from Capslock as a small plant. It's flowered a number of times, has a ton of basals and it needs to be pruned badly.

cp-feb2012-tx(vxa)001.jpg

N x ventricosa x aristolochioides: Last of the update pics. Thanks for looking!
