    you know what? i've been a city boy my whole life. i spent a few years living in the suburbs but really didn't like it at all.

    there is ONE thing that is making me change my whole take on suburban living: you folks with your damn bog gardens!!! these things are gorgeous and i would love to be able to build one for myself someday.

    great job on that one, seriously. can't wait to see the updates as those sarrs fill out.

    I'd love to be able to put together one of these some day. I'm curious, what, if anything, are you doing for drainage??

    Thank you.

    It is 18" on the two separate sides and 20" for the whole back part. It is slightly sloped to one corner in the back with a few holes in the bottom on that corner only and a hole/PVC pipe near the top for overflow drainage. The mistake I made with the old bog was no slope, too many holes in the bottom, and only 12" deep. It dried out too fast in summer and flooded in winter (hard clay soil where I live).

    It is just behind the second red flytrap. It was very small when I got it last year, perhaps a 1st-year seedling? It was in the old bog last year and now in the new bog. Here are a couple of close-ups of it:
