    Update: 07Nov2011
Panels were removed. Round 5/8" weather stripping was added to line the shelves (to add the space for fixtures and isolate the shelves). Panels were remounted. Post updated. More pics added and more will be added.

So in attempt to solve the inadequate humidity issue I rigged this:
The problem is that once the lights are one and start generating heat, humidity decreases.

And since I became an owner of 4 new aquariums the third shelf is now occupied as well.

    very nice looking....

I do have a small concern...
I would recommend your humidifier be below the outlet to the rack with runs that are on a constant slope. That way, any condensation that accumulates in the hose can gravity flow back into the humidifier and be recycled. You dont want it "puddling" in the hose for several reasons.... it may leak, it may cause restriction to flow, it may cause bacterial/fungal/funk issues..... etc.

Oh, I didn't even think of that ... Thank you for the tip!!
I have an ultrasonic humidifier on its way to my cave and as soon as it arrives I'll need to redo the tubing.

The current humidifier is evaporative and blows so much air through that it works like a fan and humidifier in one (thus I removed the fans currently). And yet it did not solve humidity issue during the day it seems...

Once I turn on the lights and the fixtures start generating heat, humidity drops from 70% to 40%. I really hope ultrasonic humidifier will resolve this issue. I'll have to experiment with run times as well to determine the on and off periods (save on DI water and electricity).

Oh forgot to mention, I had to put in fans on top of the aquariums / terrariums to circulate some air in through the holes in the cover. They started to stink after a week with moss in it. Anyone has advices on how to avoid the problem?
