Thanks y'all! I was a little worried about the N. Spathulata XX predator seeds since I only had four. Luckily another one has germinated which should offer great comparison for the two in the coming months!

Came home after a day to notice this.. pretty surprising speed considering the lil' seedling was just a smudge of green hiding inside it's seed pod for about two weeks.

Went out and took some more pics...

N. Eymae X X Trusmadiensis

D. glanduliglera seedlings. So far these guys have been coming up fast and strong with each feeding. The "snap tentacles" have begun to show their traits but it's really hard to see it snap so fast with the naked eye.

<a href="http://s1222.photobucket.com/albums/dd495/Lance_Plater/?action=view&current=DSC_0570.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1222.photobucket.com/albums/dd495/Lance_Plater/DSC_0570.jpg" border="0" alt="D."></a>

Sarracenia seedlings 2012

Banana plant. Amazing to think I grew this guy from seed. The trouble will be repotting it with roots growing everywhere under the GH floor.

<a href="http://s1222.photobucket.com/albums/dd495/Lance_Plater/?action=view&current=DSC_0576.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1222.photobucket.com/albums/dd495/Lance_Plater/DSC_0576.jpg" border="0" alt="Banana plant"></a>

Not carnivorous (but still cool), Mimosa Pudica seedlings

<a href="http://s1222.photobucket.com/albums/dd495/Lance_Plater/?action=view&current=DSC_0577.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1222.photobucket.com/albums/dd495/Lance_Plater/DSC_0577.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

More to come soon!

The banana plant seems to be taking the repot well. At this speed of growth I wouldn't be surprised if it decided to make some bananas for me :D

Sarracenia X Swaniana X rubra ssp. gulfensis X minor var. okienefskis seedlings. It amazes me to think that it took four years of trial and error to finally get these guys to germinate. Good to know that all the hard work finally payed off :D

Wonderful plants! Lots from my "Dream List!" Is the Spathulata X X Puna one Sam made? Hadn't seen that before, looks like it will get nice and dark. Also is the algae on the sphagnum ok for the Rajah seeds?

  • #54
I might watch that algae if I were you, rarely bodes well for seedlings. Also, if you're at all interested, I have a male N. ventricosa "red" that will be opening flowers in a week or 2.

Thanks! The Spathulata X Puna is one Sam made, but I forget the grex name.

So far the algae has not had contact with the seeds, but I'll probably need to physan the area soon. Hopefully the Atten will be OK.

I'm not too sure if the flowers will last that long. If they still are around I'll let you know ;). The lowland flowers I've had tend to only last a few days while fertile, possibly because of the heat.

Hey do you have any recent photos of the "hopeful monsters"? I bought the same hybrid (is it the same or were they all Mirilliana crossed with something different?) and I'd love to see what it might potentially look like. So far both the pitchers its put out were kinda mutant/deformed and I'm not sure if that was just it adjusting to my conditions or if its actually a "monster" lol. It's about to open it's third pitcher in my care this week so I guess I'll find out.

I don't have any pictures of it right now. N. Hopeful monster is Mirillana X ?. The "Hopeful Monster" isn't even supposed to look like this, but I asked if there were any mutants that needed a home :p . It wouldn't surprise me if you happened to have the same sort of mutation with yours. There may have been a DNA frame shift in an entire seed pod that caused it to happen. I'm not so certain of the mutants stability. . . It has been pouting for quite some time.

Hopeful Monster sure looks like my Mirabilis, Winged x Veitchii

Your plants are looking great, Lance. The color variation of the lowii x Sabre Dark Cherry seedlings seems to be across the board.

You've got the skills to pay the bills..
