My indoor greenhouse and desk setup

  • #21
oops... This is the amp I'm talking about. It's (supposedly) a "herlequin" although the other plant in the order wasn't what it was supposed to be. Talk about every aspect of bad service...

  • #22
That's gotta be the most bizarre muluensis x lowii I've ever seen.

Great plants - can't wait to see your set-up evolve.

  • #23
What are you talking about, there's tons of comments here.

  • #24
I just meant on my last post lol. Thanks guys. But as you can see I'm lacking in the light department.

  • #25
I think you and your plants will be very happy with a 4-bulb high output T5 fixture.

  • #26
Yeah that sounds pretty good to me :) I too can't wait to see this evolve!

Some new goodies!!
Heres nepenthes ventricosa x ramispina:

Some mini orchids: I need a new camera.. This next one (I seem to have misplaced the tag) has beautiful tiny yellow flowers but my macro refuses to focus on them..

Oncidium varigatum:
IMG_1505_zps5d19adf3.jpg

Leochilus stanhopea:
IMG_1503_zps64529da1.jpg

And I've always wanted these orchid baskets to hang some neps in. I can't wait til it becomes overgrown with LFS:

Looking good. Those are some great pics of your new additions.

  • #29
Thanks again my friend! The plants are just beautiful! And hopefully I'll upgrade soon from the ol' point and shoot camera to something a bit nicer. At least with auto-focus lol. I'd love to be able to take sweet macro shots of plants. Perhaps then I'd actually go through the trouble to set up a white box or photograph them over a black background or something..

New pitcher opening. This plant has amazing pitchers on every leaf! I love seeing the progression from oldest to newest. The new pitcher is at least 5 times the size of the oldest!

Awesome!

vent x ram reminds me of coffee ice cream!
IMG_1954_zps8ebdd65c.jpg

New "riddler" pitcher. Glad this guy finally settled in. Starting to see more veitchii influence. Especially in the colors. And ever so slowly the peristome is getting wider...
IMG_1952_zps75554c86.jpg

New sang pitcher dwarfs the last! It's grown a considerable amount since this photo too.
IMG_1938_zpsa4d13564.jpg

IMG_1939_zpsb7423b35.jpg

Finally found me a nice ramispina! This pitcher is at LEAST 3 times larger than the last
IMG_1929_zpsbcbde129.jpg

IMG_1933_zpsc123a3c6.jpg

Other ramispina. I believe both are B.E. clones but I'm not sure. They both have similar sized pitchers (this one to the small one on the first plant) and have fairly different colorations.
IMG_1847_zpsd0362577.jpg

tentaculata (Gunung Rajah) I really want a bunch of different variations of this plant.

This is the coolest orchid ever! It has this "tongue" in the middle that pops out of the flower and wobbles like a bobble head. It's incredible!

Gerden tech is growing!

Spath x spec again
IMG_1850_zps6790ff4a.jpg

New muluensis x lowii. This plant is really interesting. Here are three pitchers on it, all completely different colors from red/yellow to black

Those are some good looking plants ya got there! That tentaculata has a really cool shape, peristome seems wider than other clones. ;) Nice orchids too.

Set up a new grow rack. May be temporary because I might move it outside. Not sure yet what would be the best course of action..

I can't get enough of this ventricosa x ramispina. really love the coffee/brick red color. The camera really doesn't do it justice.

  • #35
Great plants, dude! Everything's looking healthy and vibrant. How are you liking that hygrolon?

  • #36
Thanks Mato! I'm loving the hygrolon! Or more, my plants are loving it. The orchids and an epiphytic utric I mounted to it are putting out lots of new growth and becoming entwined in the material. The epidendrum porpax is doing real well. I un-potted it where it had obviously been for a while and I figured it would be slowed down a bunch by the move, but it's exploded with new growth and has a great root system. I'm not sure if it's the extra moisture, or airflow or both.. I also have a little division (was rootless) of a restrepia brachypus that's loving the hygrolon. I'm about to buy a big sheet to use with a vivarium background.

  • #37
I feel very confident sending you my items. I may throw in something extra since everything looks so good.

  • #38
Thanks man! That means a lot to a newbie like me! I'd love some extras if you want to give them, but don't feel obligated to. There was a bunch of other stuff of yours that I wanted to bid on but ran out of money. I just got paid so I'd be happy to throw a bit more your way in exchange for some plants..

  • #39
Don't worry about the payment. I have a few things that need dividing that should fit in the box.
