So sorry to hear that...I was hoping to hear a more positive news about it.
    Nevertheless, your Macrophylla looks amazing!

Thanks guys. I am happy to at least have the plants that I have now..and the fact that they are growing well. Its more than I can ask for. I think when I had the big tanks, it was always about more and more... there were always some plants that never thrive. Now its nice to hit a stable ecosystem which the plants appreciate.

yeah...It would have been nice if I still had more of my villosa seedlings and rajah seedling. But well..things happen. Maybe someday in the future, I can grow more of these species from seed.

Here is a teaser of the next update

A new tank from a leftover gift certificate from Hagen.

The plants that will be living in it... a new package from Urban bog. Fantastic packaging. I never got better looking VFTs after shipping. These look picture perfect.

    Just a teaser...more later

Thanks B. My telly has gone down too. Not dead...definitely not thriving. It needs intermediate conditions....so try moving it to a warmer area.

    FlyTrapShop Updates on tank#2

So here is the new tank with its inhabitants. Brings back memories of my original start with CPs in 2006. Ha! I still remember saying "I don't care about other CPs, I just want to grow venus fly traps. "

    Planning pots to be used

Now opening the plants from Urban Bog. Bought 2 of each varieties. Fantastic packing. These Dionaea muscipula look awesome.

Always loved "in action" pics of potting up plants etc. so here is my shot at it

My third Cephalotus clone (although, If I recall correctly, one of our ol' time members might have been the source of the Cephalotus follicularisculture material for Rick at Keehns Carnivores...so in that case, this would be a duplicate of my original Cephalotus plant). He knows who he is.

I had the peat and sand mix soaking for a couple of days, but when I opened the tupperware, there was a rank smell which I never faced with my old brand of peat. I think it might be bacteria. Either way, I wanted a backup of my plants, so I potted the extra of each variety in a pure Sphagnum rubellium.

My personal favourite.. A blood red rosette of Dionaea muscipula. Although, the ol' timers here know how much I love "Dente" varieties. ... Perhaps in the future, I can get a "long teeth" variant of this nice rosette.

Full tank shot. Also put my display cube and potted up another spare root division of my original Cephalotus follicularis to compare growth among my two tanks.

    cheers

    V
