Bio's Highland setup.

BioZest

zesty.
Hey guys!

Over the last few days I've been working on setting up a 30 gallon highland tank. I ordered a temperature/humidity dial., and some nice lights. I was just taking some pics to post:

N. Maxima? Respond if you dig the yogurt pot. (thanks Paul :-D)

when my lights finally came! I grabbed the box, and started unpacking:

was a bit concerned by the combination of this:
IMG_0998_zps0daf3614.jpg

and this:
IMG_1001_zpsa9540e4f.jpg

but everything was all right:
IMG_1018_zps52d957ff.jpg

I had it set up right on the tank, but it was getting too hot, so I raised it up about 8in.

Look good? I can adjust it if necessary, so let me know.

Thought this was a cool shot:

More Pics of actual plants to come. Thanks for you input.

Looks like you're as creative with pots as me :D. I use old noodle bowls and other random assorted things.

Here is my shameful plant pic. I popped off the new tendril while unpacking this plant, and now I really regret it.
N. Caesar x veitchii:

That tendril is moving so slowly...

N. Deep Sigh hasn't opened up its new pitcher yet, but It's new leaf is unfurling quickly:

Here's a bigger shot:

UPDATE!!! finally.

N. 'Deep Sigh':

This plant opened its first real pitcher in my care since I got it sempember. The first one never opened, I assume from the stress of moving.

The rc x talang looks really interesting! I have both parents, though ironically the supposedly difficult talang is doing better than the rc, which won't produce any decent leaves or pitchers.....though I hope it does soon because I know that peristome on your hybrid isn't from the talang....

It's been a while, I think the plants slowed down over the winter. They get some natural light in addition to the t5s. Looks like spring is coming though, because the plants just popped some new pitchers:

I got a fogger and moved the setup into the basement, I think this will provide better conditions for them. It was getting too warm up in my room.

Looks good, Bio. You may want to consider purchasing some fluorescent light panels (aka egg crate) for the plants to sit on. It will be a lot easier for you to gauge the moisture content if they aren't sitting in liquid and it also allows gas exchange from under the pot, which is somewhat important when the plants are in such a humid environment.

Oh man! N. robcantleyi x talangensis is awesome!

Thanks! I've been wanting to get some egg crate. Can you just pick it up at Home Depot?

Thanks man! This hybrid has really stunned me. I'm getting excited for it's next pitcher--the peristome keeps getting wider and wider :-O.

Yeah, they sell it in 2' x 4' panels that are $10 or so.
