Nick-Hubbel.....can you tell me what is that red thing inside your terrarium.....that "pipe".
Wish I had that many plants! (well, working on it...got a zillion seedlings...
)
All those plastic takeout containers.....NICE! I've taken to using those big plastic jugs that Utz pretzels and animal crackers come in.

Wow.. thanks for all the kind words everyone
The terrariums look kind of bare now due to so many plants being removed to start dormancy. Good thing I took the pics when I did!
I envy those of you who can grow CP's without the need of a terrarium.. but due to our harsh Alaskan winters an indoor set-up like that is almost a necessity.
Wood heat doesn't help either.. talk about low humidity!
Anyways, come on everyone.. keep posting those great pics
Bonnie,
LITTLE setup! little! that huge! whats in the cow? (my mother saw it and now she want me to get a bunch of utrics and put them in "cow pots" like the ones you have

Ok.. since the cow has been kinda popular here is a close up pic of her.. the sandersonii are kind of flat right now because my cat sat on them.. sorry
sat on them? how did he/she get into the terrarium to SIT on it? (maybe she/he thought it was a kitten and was trying to take care of it?)
j/k (I dokn't see how it could happen...)

She jumped onto the terrarium and fell through the lid... it was one of the many times I've walked into my room to find a Felis catus next to my Utricularia tricolor sitting on a U. sandersonii and chewing on a lovely Pinguicula lutea.
I finally got a pic of my terrarium up! It's nothing too special. As I get better with this darn digital camera I'm sure I'll get some better pics. It's on the website:

That really is a beautiful terrarium. I'm just curious though. I would be a bit worried about about the humidity affecting the lights and their electrical components. No probs. in that department? Is there ventilation? I can't quite make out that kind of detail looking at it.
There is a sheet of glass between the plants and the lights, so humidity isn't a problem, and the bottom of the each level is sealed so water can't leak into the fixture below.
The sand was an experiment to see if it would help with the algae. It helps a little bit, but the plants seem happier without it. Not a very scientific experiment.
