Mini Bog!

Hello. I am making a mini bog. I need help on making it. It is a small gardening bowl, about 14" across. I am putting in peat/perlite mix and a top dressing of spahgnum. The plants I am putting in are Sarracenia Purpurea. I live in NH, so I plan on leaving them out year-round, except I will move them into pots in the winter. The bowl is clay. Is this okay?

Clay pots aren't advisable. They may contain harmful chemicals and may contaminate the soil of your plants, S. Purpurea. I wouldn't suggest it; try a plastic container.

You can use clay containers, but you have to seal the inside of the pot. I've done it, and it's working fine for me. The only thing i don't like is that the outside of the pot gets algae growing on it.
