I also use schulz three-in-one spray on most of my plants and it does work ok. I admit that I didn't give much thought on using it on the CPs (I always spray it in the soil though, so I wasn't sure if it could be used on the delicate leaves of CPs.)

Do you know whether cleary or captan can be used on leaves or which is best for dormancy, or are they about the same.

One last question for you or Mr. Paroubek...... can I use 50/50 of Scotts and playground sand as potting medium? I read on another forum that Scott's sphagnum peat moss is not good for CPs because it contains the wrong type of sand. Geesh...I bought some Scotts and some playground sand from homedepot and was going to mix them 50/50 for my plants. Of all things, I didn't think that the TYPE of sand was a big deal (I mean, as long as it doesn't come from salt water, I always thought that sand was sand!). Thanks. i buy the huge "bales" of compressed peat at homedpot, they last forever. it's canadian peat but i dont remember the brand. i use the 50 pound bags of playsand from homedpot. this sand never caused me any problems and yes, the type of sand does indeed matter.
