    ID this Aqutic plant

I was in a remote lake this week and in the lake were plants that was growing so thick it was hard to even paddle through it. I got some good pics of it and I was wondering if anybody can ID it.

I also found this floating in the river leading to the lake. I have no idea what it is, but I think it may be a root.

If you want to see the unsized, untouched pics to get more detail you can click these links.

the first plant, if it was in the UK I would say it is a Myriophyllum, not sure what else similar you may get out there...

the roots are rhizomes of a water lily

    It's a 'Judith Hindle'.

Refer to the 'ID this Sarracenia' thread to get the joke.
