    Hmm... Plant B has never made any fruit (or at least not any fruit I've seen).

    This one is in my back yard, and I've never planted anything where that one currently is and resprouts. Like I mentioned, the plant resprouts in late summer every year in the same little area. It grows pretty tall (over 4 feet) and flowers in the fall until the frost kills it. I guess it could be possible that the flowers are pollinated and set/drop seed. However, I have never seen fruit (let alone eggplants!). Once the plant dies down, the woody-like stems are left over and I never see it again until the next summer.
