D. oblanceolata or not?

These plants are from keehns carnivores (Canada), ever since I saw this thread (http://www.terraforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=129192) I have been suspicious of their origin and if they are really the true form. If it is not D. oblanceolata it would most likely be D. lanatu island hybrid. If anyone has the true form the form from keehn's or the lanatu hybrid please post photos and give your opinion as to what this plant is.

In my opinion.. most definitely not.

I'm guessing that it's a fine example of Drosera spatulata. Keehn's example picture looks more like what I've seen from D. oblanceolata.

Thanks!

So odd. Here is a photo of the flower:

It looks rather like spatulata but this photo of sp lanatu island from sundewman's website has those small notches on the edge of the petals:

The plant looked a lot more like an oblanceolata or a lanatu when I recieved it with upward curving long leaves but it flowered and died back to what it looks like right now.

looks like this one from BCP:

Does anyone know if the form BCP carries is legit. I want to get the real plant no matter what.

I sent this plant to several people and I would like to inform them as to what it really is and try to get them the real thing.

Please post your opinions.

Actually, I believe that this photo of lanatu island hybrid pretty much settles it:

Sure looks like the plants I have right now and a hybrid of oblanceolata and spatulata makes sense.

If anyone else has any ideas feel free to post them!

I agree that it is the D. sp. "Lantua Island' hybrid. My lantua island look exactly like it. Nice plants!

I will contact Rick about it, See what he thinks. Maybe he will be willing to relable them.

I would say that B.C.P. has the real McCoy. They're pretty particular about the authenticity of their plants as well as their locality data.

Good. That way I can send the people I sent the fake, the real thing.

Thanks!

From the type description of D. oblanceolata (page 340)
http://www.plantsystematics.com/en/...andu=1981&sel_qihao=3&sel_kanchurq=1981-8-18#

The flower scape should be 5-9 cm, slightly hairy, 8-10 flowers arranged in a helicoid. 5 Pink petals, cuneiform or obovate, bracts linear, about. 2 mm long, pedicels 3-5 mm long, sepals 5, joined at the base, obovata or narrowly oblong, about. 4 mm long; 5 filaments ~2mm long, anthers 2 loculate, linked.

A mature D. oblanceolata has two forms of leaves on a short 2cm stalk, decumbant leaves with short petioles (3-7mm) with orbicular lamina and somewhat upright leaves with long (1-3.2 cm) petioles with oblanceolate or linear lamina. Younger plants may only have the shorter leaves. Plant is an annual grower.

If the seed doesn't look like the type specimen below it probably isn't D. oblanceolata.

The plant's leaves looked like that when I recieved it, not anymore though.

The plants in question are flowering now, I will try to take photos of the seeds.
