    UNH's Nepenthes

    Hey Everyone:

About a month ago, I stopped by the UNH greenhouses and saw that they had a great CP display, but it needed some help. Mostly, everything just needed to be repotted them. I contacted them and they were more than happy to have me come out - on behalf of the NECPS - to help train their volunteers in repotting CPs and caring for CPs. In a little less than four hours yesterday, we managed to repot nearly the entirety of UNH's Sarr, VFT, Ping, and Drosera collection. As we did this, I began checking the Nep tags and noticed that some were unlabeled or had multiple tags. So, below, I'm going to post a whole bunch of them to make sure that the labels are correct.

    Labeled as N. sp. 1:

    N. sanguinea:

No label as far as I saw. N. sib. hybrid?

    No label:

Sp. 1 looks accurate for the 1st one. 2nd one is either sanguinea or sanguinea x ramispina. Can't really say on the 3rd, maybe maxima x ventricosa. 4th one looks like it may be a fusca.

    Also, these two:

No label as far as we could find:

This was labeled 'alata' but I'm not sure, now that the complex has been broken apart, whether it's something else:

Thanks, Johnny. Since you might be up there in about a month, maybe you wouldn't mind looking through things, since you're far better at IDing than I am.

#3 resembles my N. Gothica, suggesting it likely has maxima and/or sibuyanensis in the mix, but you shouldn't label it as anything specific, since the odds are you will never know for sure. You could label it as "probable N. maxima hybrid" and get away with it.
