    Shot in the dark ID

One of my girlfriends clients gave her a leaf from a plant he has a while back. The guy grows some stuff with medicinal qualities like aloe, etc. and this is believed to be one of those. Anyway I stuck it in some water and have a few small plants months down the line that look like this:

The mature leaf that he gave her was roughly the size of my hand if I remember correctly and looked just like the leaves pictured but with more pronounced ridging.

Looks like a Kalanchoe, but I couldn't say which species.

Thank you John and Paul both, maybe when it gets bigger and maybe eventually flowers I can get a species ID. Good to know the genus though. I think I put them in about 50:50 peat:sand. They seem to be doing ok in it for now but would you recommend switching to a more standard cacti/succulent mix?

I don't have much experience with the genus, but if it's anything like K. daigremontii, you could plant it in your hair and it would grow.

Haha ok, I'll leave them be for now. Maybe I'll look for something more suitable when they start to fill in the pot. Or maybe I can save up some hair clippings
