Hi,

Noah : My first pictures one of the two, that you suppose The second is not a tuberous Drosera.

Pinguiculaman : Your first picture looks like mine. Is the second one Drosera rotundifolia ? If so, you're wrong

2 = Drosera intermedia (Actual identity - Drosera anglica)
3 = Drosera spatulata (Kansai type) same as 5
4 = Drosera capillaris (green plant, white flower)
5 = Drosera spatulata (Kansai type) same as 3

Yes, Christian; my guess is that the first one of the last group is Drosera burmannii and the second is Drosera rotundifolia as you guessed. I know your second one had a longer endosperm than does my Drosera rotundifolia, perhaps it is Drosera anglica? I haven't looked at very many different seed yet. Just got the microscope. I will keep looking and taking photos. If I have any in my collection, I should eventually be able to find some.

Hi,

Yes, the first one is Drosera burmanii The second one is no hibernacula-forming Drosera. It is from Africa.

Hi Joseph,

Are you sure you do not have #2 and #4 mixed up? The seed of intermedia is significantly coarse and bumpy, as in pic #4, and not as elongated as those in #2.

According to the key, #2 looks like anglica and #4 like intermedia. I could see #4 being capillaris (the surface texture is not as highly obvious) but the ID on #2 is seems doubtfull to me.

take care.

Yes, you are correct #2 does not appear to be Drosera intermedia, it was orphan seed, it was earlier separated from its parent plant and kept without a label. It may be Drosera anglica. I will need to match it to correctly identified seed to be sure.

Happy holidays everyone.
