    Mediterranean Katydid

I found this sucker on my Sarracenia minor x psittacina yesterday. I identified it as Phaneroptera nana - Mediterranean Katydid. It was introduced to California and can be found in the San Francisco and Hollywood area. Sightings have been reported in New York too. I fed her to my S. rosea. Notice the holes chewed into the pitcher hood in the background of the first photo.

Yeah, I've seen those.....my treefrog likes them.
Some days it just isn't worth chewing thru the restraints.

The nymphs are cute, i had one live on my succulents for several weeks. I don't mind if they have a little snack on my plants.

Not sure if we have the same ones here but they are at least Katydids that look similar. My tuxedo cat Flash sits under them when they are up on the wall and howls and howls hoping to entice it to come down so he can eat it! LOL

    Whoops, forgot the link:

Sites say katydids do not cause massive amounts of damage.
